There are some things that every homeowner should be aware of before they hire a roofing contractor and sign the legal contract to have the work done on their Rockland, Massachusetts home.

The homeowner should know exactly what the duties and responsibilities of the rockland roofing contractor (and all the roofers assigned to the job) are and this should be clearly spelled out in the contract so that there will be no misunderstandings down the line.  The contract you sign should include the price estimate of what you will be billed to have the job completed and the details of the work to be done.  Make sure the price you are quoted covers all materials and labor.  The contract should also give complete details on things such as the warranties, roof type, roof brand, and a schedule for when the work is to be completed.  Make sure that the contract states the roofing contractor is responsible for hauling away the old roof as well as cleaning up the yard and sidewalk debris.

Another thing a homeowner should make sure is clearly spelled out in the contract is what happens if the roofing contractor is not going to be able to meet certain terms of the contract.  Reserve the right to approve or disapprove any subcontractors that may be brought in to complete the work.
