If your home needs a new roof or a roof repair there is no bad time to do it. However if you can plan when to have the job completed (non-emergency situation) then pick the best time of year for your climate. In some areas early Spring kicks off the roofing replacement season while other areas need a few more weeks.
If you have hired a professional roofing contractor they will not only pick the right time of year they will also try to plan the best time weather wise to complete the job. Ripping off a roof one day only to have a torrential downpour the next will cause major problems for the homeowner. So if you are planning to do the job yourself you better keep an eye on the weather channel and not underestimate the amount of time it will take to get the new roof on. You may think you can get it done in a day but if your buddy who promised he would come to help doesn’t show you will fall behind. So do yourself a favor and make sure you have some padding in the weather forecast so you don’t get caught up in a storm and not have a roof on your house.
